Almendariz’ collage style is unique as it uses paper almost as a brush stroke to design the completed image. Using vintage maps, sheet music, lyrics and other custom papers tying into the subject, her pieces have a distinct style. Not only does her work use layers of paper but layers of meaning as the story behind each completed piece unfolds to the viewers eyes the longer they observe and read the text in the image.
